GOLF DAY PRO SHOPS
Sports Authority’s specialized Golf Day Pro Shops are designed to cater to golfers at all ability and experience levels. Golf Day Pro Shops are located in our premier store locations. Using a “store within a store” boutique merchandising concept, the shops prominently feature wooden fixtures and displays, reminiscent of on-course pro shop locations. Golf Day Pro Shops feature late model equipment from all of the industry’s most prestigious vendors including, Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade and Nike.

Objective
Utilizing extensive knowledge of golf products and vendors, provide the customer with the highest level of customer service in the golf department. Greet and service customers upon entering the department, maximizing the opportunity for sales and service.
Primary Job Functions
Provide customers with highest level of customer service, emphasizing courteous and knowledgeable assistance to each and every customer.
Accountable for increasing sales, units per transaction and transactions size in the golf department.
Suggestive selling to customers.
Keep golf department well-stocked, clean and neat.
Be familiar with the daily advertising and promotions as to accurately inform the customer.
Be knowledgeable of golf merchandise on the floor as well as in stockroom, including verification of the current selling price of the merchandise.
Be familiar with the product manuals for the department.
Answer department phones courteously within three rings.
Address loss prevention issues that may occur in the department in a manner that there is neither a loss to the company nor an uncontrollable situation with the customer.
Assist in the training of new sales associates in the department.

Prerequisite skills/experience for position
Card carrying pro preferred.
Average 40 rounds of golf per year with low handicap.
Previous golf sales necessary.
Must be able to work Monday/Thursday/Friday noon to close, Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-6pm.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to interact enthusiastically.
Extensive knowledge of golf vendors and products being sold in the department.
Considerable sports knowledge preferred.
